The Oak Bluffs Blazers got off to a winning start in the new interscholastic boys basketball season with a 53-36 victory over the Tisbury Tigers on Tuesday afternoon at the Tisbury School.
Jeremy Regan scored 22 points for the Blazers to lead all scorers. Aiden Araujo added 10 more for O.B. Cam Moore led Tisbury with 8 points.
The Blazers took control early, racing to a 20-7 lead. Oak Bluffs led 29-17 at the half.
Tisbury played the Blazers straight up for the first eight minutes of the second half, trailing 35-25, but O.B. found another gear and put the game away with a 13-0 run, to lead 48-25 with under five minutes remaining.
In other boys action on Tuesday, West Tisbury defeated Edgartown 48-22.
