The works of beloved painter Gretchen Feldman has lined the walls of the Louisa Gould Gallery in Vineyard Haven this month. The mini retrospective, “Gretchen Feldman 1934-2008″ spans over 30 years of Ms. Feldman’s creations, and includes 25 works which showcase a range of the artist’s earlier watercolors through later abstract pieces. The exhibit will be on display through Thursday, Sept. 24, and will celebrate with a closing reception on Saturday, Sept. 19 from 4 to 6 pm.
Ms. Feldman’s work has been shown extensively, including at the American Visionary Art Museum in Baltimore, the Carol Craven Gallery, the Martha’s Vineyard Art Association (Old Sculpin Gallery), and the Nevin Kelly Gallery in Washington, D.C. Purchased pieces have enlivened many a personal collection all over the country.
