Thirteen gymnasts from Island Gymnastics Training School, coached by Beth Goodell, participated in the Winter Carnival meet hosted by Dream Big Gymnastics in Cranston, R.I., last Saturday and Sunday. This was the fourth meet Island gymnasts have participated in this season.

Maeve Cook Martin finished first all-around in the Bronze Junior division, Taybor Estrella placed first all-around in the Gold Junior A division, and Rose Herman was first all-around in the Senior A Gold division; all three were named the Winter Carnival Queen in their respective divisions. The teams also excelled. The results follow.
Bronze Junior division: Gabrielle Guimaraes (second on floor with an 8.1 and sixth all-around); Eirene “Pickle” Eville (first on beam with an 8.9 and third on floor with 8.05, fifth all-around); Bess Carbon (first place vault and bars with an 8.7 and 9.2, third all-around); Grace Voshell (third on vault with an 8.5; second bars 9.15; first floor 8.2; second place in the all-around); Maeve Cook Martin (second on vault and beam with 8.6 and 8.8; third bars 8.9; first all-around with a total of 34.3).

Bronze Senior division: Amy Maeda (second on beam 9.4; first for floor, finishing seventh all-around); Aislyn “Tiggy” Gates (third on bars 9.15, first on beam 9.5, and fourth for floor with 8.8, taking sixth in the all-around); Sara Goodale (second on vault 9.0, first bars 9.4, third floor 9.05; second all-around with a 36.05). The Xcel Bronze Team took home the second-place trophy.
Silver Junior A division: Molly Crawford (second for bars and floor with 8.8 and 8.6; first on beam with 9.55 and second all-around with 35.05); Emily Boyd (first bars 9.1 and fourth beam 9.0; fifth all-around with 33.80).
Silver Junior B division: Alexa Schroder (fourth on vault 8.4, second beam 9.5 and fifth floor 8.7, taking fifth all-around with 34.80). The Xcel Silver team won the third-place trophy.
Junior A Gold division: Taybor Estrella (first on vault and floor with 8.5 and 9.05, fourth bars 8.65, second beam 8.6, winning first all-around with 34.8, and crowned the Winter Carnival Queen for the Gold Junior A division).
Senior A Gold division, Rose Herman (first on vault and beam with 8.85 and 9.4, third on bars 8.5 and second for her floor with 8.8; won first all-around with 35.55, and was named the Winter Carnival Queen for the Gold Senior A division). The Xcel Gold team took home the second-place trophy.
