The West Tisbury library and the Martha’s Vineyard Film Society announce a free, interactive screening of “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” at the M.V. Film Center at 1 pm on Friday, March 2. According to a press release, doors will open at 12:30 pm with an interactive script, goodie bags, and a sorting hat to help young witches and wizards choose a Hogwart House. This is a one-time only event. Tickets can be reserved (for free) at mvfilmsociety.com or at the Film Center box office.
This event marks the second recent collaboration between the West Tisbury Free Public Library and the Film Society, the first being a free public screening of the documentary “Ex Libris” and fundraiser for the Island Food Pantry in December. The event also marks a continuation of the Film Society’s efforts to expand its youth programming, which includes the Young Adult Film Series in collaboration with Oyster MV, the Science on Screen Film Series, and a youth filmmaking camp in the summer with MVTV.
