The Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School (MVRHS) girls tennis team traveled to Foxborough High School on Tuesday and scored the most impressive win of the season to date, with a 4-1 win over the defending MIAA Division 2 state champion Warriors.
The Division 3 Vineyarders (12-0) were especially tough in doubles. Lizzie Williamson and Victoria Scott rolled to a 6-0, 6-1, win over Kayla Prag and Olivia Dantona at first doubles, while Molly and Paige Pogue were equally efficient in defeating Morgan Krockta and Jacey Nicklas at second doubles, 6-1, 6-0.
In the singles matches, Kat Roberts outlasted Sophia Prinos at first singles in a third-set tiebreaker after dropping the first set 4-6 and taking the second set 7-6; Hannah Rabasca defeated Julia Muise at second singles, 6-4, 6-3; and Foxborough’s Lexi Nelson edged Kelly Klaren 7-6, 7-6, at second singles.
