In a press release on Monday, the Martha’s Vineyard Sharks baseball team announced that Shana Metzger will enter her second season as general manager.
Sharks president and director of baseball operations Kyle Fiore said in the release, “Shana joined us last June as a short-term consultant. After working with her for a couple of weeks, we asked Shana to stay on for the rest of the season. She has a tireless work ethic, good business sense, and a passion for the game of baseball. We are excited to have her back with the organization.”
Metzger was quoted in the release saying, “I am thrilled about the opportunity to be back with the Sharks. I learned a lot last summer, and by reaching an agreement now, I will have months to prepare for the 2016 season. The team has been very successful on the field the past few seasons, and we are committed to improving our business operations and fan experience to match the level of on-field success. We made great headway last summer, and we fully expect to build on that momentum this coming season.”
The Sharks are scheduled to open the 2016 season with a home game Thursday, June 2, against the North Shore Navigators.
