The Steamship Authority (SSA) board members announced Tuesday that Terry Cote Vizard, chief financial officer for Outer Cape Health Services, will be the boatline’s new treasurer and comptroller. She will replace Bob Davis, who is taking over as SSA general manager. In turn, Mr. Davis replaces Wayne Lamson, who will retire in June after more than 13 years as boatline chief.
Ms. Cote Vizard is a certified public accountant (CPA) with more than 30 years of experience in government, healthcare, and not-for-profit organizations, including more than 13 years of audit experience in public accounting working for Deloitte & Touche LLP (D&T). While at D&T, she was audit manager for the SSA account. She lives in West Yarmouth.
The members chose Ms. Vizard unanimously, based in large part on her familiarity with accounting principles, governmental accounting standards, grant reporting, and SSA finances.
“Terry’s strong technical skills, along with her working knowledge of the Steamship Authority’s operation, make her an ideal candidate for the position of treasurer and comptroller,” Mr. Lamson said in a press release.
Ms. Cote Vizard has a bachelor of science degree in accounting and finance from Bridgewater State College. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
