Pouring rain and lightning shook Martha’s Vineyard during thunderstorms on Friday and Saturday nights, soaking the down-Island towns especially and sending pedestrians and boaters speeding for cover.
Jesse McGrath, a year-round resident artist and musician, was in Menemsha with a friend Saturday night, and managed to capture a lightning strike on her phone’s camera as the storm approached. She said they were “enjoying the sunset with some wine and clams and we stayed a little later to keep watching the approaching storm.”
