Edgartown voters decided one contest at the polls

Edgartown voters went to the polls on Thursday. In the only contest, a three-way race for two available seats on the board of library trustees, voters elected Justine Shemeth DeOliveira (271 votes) and Olga Church (202). Stephen Miller received 137 votes.

Voters also said yes to three proposition 2.5 overrides: Voters approved a request for $260,000 to purchase a new ambulance (281-99); $350,000 to rebuild and resurface town streets (293-88); and $210,000 to construct a new bike path on Meetinghouse Way (250-131).

Michael Donaroma (270 faced no opposition in his bid for reelection for another three-year term on the board of selectmen. Also running unopposed: Donna Goodale, board of assessors (316); Harold T. Zadeh, board of health (305); Thomas Durawa (321) and Steven Jordan (261), financial advisory committee; Michael McCourt, planning board, (270); Kelly McCracken, school committee, (300); Glen Searle, park commissioner (333); Glen Searle, wastewater commissioner (5); Scott Ellis, water commissioner (319); William Bishop, constable (315); Edward Vincent Jr., Martha’s Vineyard Land Bank Commission (234).

A total of 387 of the town’s 3,321 registered voters, or 11.65 percent, went to the polls.
