Martha’s Vineyard Savings Bank has opened a new, larger Chilmark branch office with expanded services on South Road, across from the Chilmark Community Center.
The newly refurbished branch includes a drive-up teller window, an ATM, a more spacious lobby, and increased parking, none of which had been available at the bank’s former Chilmark branch due to space restrictions, according to a press release.
“We are excited to share this facility with the Chilmark community, and proud to make this significant investment to ensure that the community has the most up-to-date facility featuring all of today’s digital banking conveniences,” Martha’s Vineyard Savings Bank President Paul Falvey said. “However, while the building has been refurbished with new technology, we have made sure to maintain the charm and warmth of this Chilmark landmark.”
The site has been a bank since the 1960s, and has had a long history of presenting the work of local artists. “That is a tradition we fully intend to keep,” retail banking vice president Jeanne Ogden said. “In fact, we are going to increase the amount of support for the arts at our new Chilmark branch.”
A grand opening celebration for the new branch is planned for early May.
