To the Editor:
I would like to let everyone know that the Community Groceries Program currently running at all of the Cronig’s Markets continues to be a big success. Since August, we have received donations at the checkout counters of nearly $8,500 of community-groceries items. Cronig’s adds 25 percent to that tally, for a total value of groceries to the Food Pantry of almost $11,000. Wow. Our neighbors at the monthly Serving Hands food distributions are so happy to receive the organic milk and produce, and especially the olive oil — the olive oil is a huge hit, a special treat for our friends in need. It is a big success all around (and we haven’t even gotten to the summer yet). Thank you all for making giving a habit.
