To the Editor:
Thank you to all who appeared for the Bill Edison memorial softball game today (July 1) at Flanders Field. A greater band of rapscallions could not have been imagined, lo, when Bill helped instigate the game back in Toomey’s Lot over 50 years ago. Thank you, when he was raging against the dying of the light, for pilling his cat, bringing him food and beat poetry, and for just being his amigo. Look out for that poison ivy in left field, and keep the label up!
