One person was taken to Martha’s Vineyard Hospital after single car crash into a tree Friday afternoon at the intersection of Winemack Street and Green Avenue.
An Oak Bluffs police officer said speed appeared to be a factor in the crash, which occurred at around 5:30 pm.
The accident occurred after a sharp curve in the road. In the aftermath of the crash, the area surrounding the car was strewn with the vehicle door and other debris. The vehicle’s windshield was broken, an indication that the driver’s head may have hit the windshield.
The condition of the driver is not known.
