Lori Mercier Dorsey, 55, died at home in Tisbury on February 6, 2018. She was born in Oak Bluffs to Toby Dorsey and Lucille Virginia (Meadows) Dorsey on September 22, 1962.
Lori was educated at the Tisbury School, Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School and Bridgewater State College. She attended the First Baptist Church of Vineyard Haven.
What people remember best about Lori was her smile, her love of meeting new people, of music, of laughter and having her nose in a book.
Lori leaves behind her partner of 14 years Leo Willoughby, of Martha’s Vineyard, Her sister, Corinne K Dorsey of Vineyard Haven, her nephew Toby D. Riseborough of North Providence Rhode Island, nieces Maggie May Riseborough of Vineyard Haven and Ashleen M Cafarelli
and Ashleen’s daughter Zoey of Moore Haven, Fla. She was predeceased by her mother and father Lucille and Toby and an older sister, Denise Dorsey.
There will be a celebration of life on Sunday, March 18, at 1:30 pm at the First Baptist Church of Vineyard Haven on the corners of Spring and William Street in Vineyard Haven. Reception to follow at the Parish Hall on William Street.
Memorial Donations may be made to the First Baptist Church or the Serving Hands/Family- to-Family Mission.
