To the Editor:
We are sorry to read in the MV Times about internal issues troubling the Oak Bluffs Fire and EMS departments. We are particularly distressed to read negative comments about the Tri-Town Ambulance Service in one of the articles.
The Tri-Town Ambulance is a unique service designed to be the sole emergency medical service for three separate towns. We cover a very large geographic area and maintain three ambulances in three widely separated locations. We respond to an average of 400 calls per year, and have a paramedic and an EMT ready to respond to a call at any time, 24 hours a day for every day of the year.
Our medical team at Tri-Town Ambulance is well trained and always ready to go to work. We
have a unified workforce that is united in its desire to serve the public in the towns of West Tisbury, Chilmark, and Aquinnah.
