On Sunday, June 4, there will be a farewell “Tea with Lee” for Lee Fierro at the Martha’s Vineyard Playhouse, between 4 and 7 pm. Ms. Fierro has been an influential Island figure for 43 years; in 2013 she was given a “Woman of the Year Award” by Women Empowered to Make Healthy Choices for her work with the Island Theater Workshop. According to a letter from the Island Theater Workshop, Ms. Fierro is leaving the Vineyard in early June. The letter states, “She and her family have made plans for her to relocate to Aurora, Ohio, where she will start a new chapter in her life while in the safety of an independent and assisted-living community.”
