To the Editor:
The Martha’s Vineyard Times published a full-page photo of the remarkable Bang GrouP on the front page of the Calendar section last week to tout the one-time-only performance of an amazing, delightfully humorous Yard event, “Nut/Cracked,” this past Saturday evening, but disastrously and incorrectly stated the performance began at 8 pm. Who among us would have doubted our favourite news source? It began instead promptly at 6.30 pm that evening. Only those of us who just happened to speak to knowledgeable persons, or heard the correct time on the radio, could have known.
Many who had obtained costly babysitters or made dinner arrangements prior to enjoying the performance were bitterly disappointed when upon arrival, they discovered this marvelous show was almost over.
How could The Times had made such an alarming and disastrous error? Better editing and a sincere apology would appear to be in order.
The show is playing in Boston for three nights still, for those wishing to view it; or hopefully, The Yard may be able invite “Nut/Cracked” back again next Christmas season. Until that possibility becomes a reality, “bah humbug” to The Times.

Editor’s note: The story, “A delightful nut to crack,” did indeed get the show start time incorrect. It was a major goof, no question about it. A sincere apology to all those inconvenienced by this error.
