The annual Martha’s Vineyard Teddy Bear Suite fundraiser opened its doors at the Harbor View Hotel’s Captain Rowley Cottage in Edgartown on Friday, Nov. 27. According to a press release, the festive cottage will feature hundreds of teddy bears and holiday decor, inside and out.
The Teddy Bear Suite has become a holiday tradition for many. Now in its fifth year, the holiday fundraiser was created and is sponsored by Point B Realty of Edgartown and benefits the Martha’s Vineyard Boys & Girls Club. This year’s fundraising goal is $15,000. If the fundraiser reaches this goal, organizers have said that the drive will have raised $50,000 over the past five years for the Boys & Girls Club After School Program, which serves hundreds of elementary school children each week.
This year, the Teddy Bear Suite is open daily (except Mondays) through Dec. 23. Organizers have also launched an online donation site to aid in the fundraising effort.
