Jennie Lindland of Edgartown, a senior forward at Bridgewater State University, has been selected to play in the New England Women’s Basketball Association (NEWBA) Senior All-Star Classic on Saturday at Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley.
Ms. Lindland, a former hoops standout at Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School, averaged 10.7 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 1.6 steals in 26 games this season. During four seasons at BSU, she has amassed 908 points, 397 rebounds, 104 assists, 69 blocked shots, and 187 steals in 102 games.
In her final collegiate game, Jennie set the BSU single-game scoring record with 38 points in a Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) semifinal-round loss to eventual tournament champion Westfield State University.
Jennie earned All-MASCAC Second Team honors this season, ranking third in conference field-goal percentage, 10th in field goals, 11th in free throws, and 13th in scoring.
