Per order of the Oak Bluffs Fire Department, East Chop Drive will be closed to all traffic between Brewster and Munroe Aves from Monday at 5 pm to noon on Tuesday, due to an approaching storm and expected heavy rain and winds.
The National Weather Service has issued a high wind warning in 1 pm on Monday and 7 am, Tuesday. Winds are expected to be 25 to 35 mph, with gusts up to 60 mph. A coastal flood watch is in effect from 7 to 11 pm on Monday evening associated with the high tide, and then again on Tuesday morning.
