The first Island baby of 2017 arrived at Martha’s Vineyard Hospital at 9:03 am on Wednesday, Jan. 4. Acacia Lima was born to parents Viviana and Adriano Lima of Vineyard Haven. She weighed 8.3 pounds and was 18 and 3/4 inches long.
Older sister Clarice Lima, 5 years old, said she is excited to be a big sister and was lovingly doting over Acacia and her mother. Both Viviana and Acacia are sleeping well and enjoying the maternity ward all to themselves.
“When she wants to cry she certainly makes herself clear,” Viviana said.
