To the Editor:

As we are now just weeks away from the Nov. 8 general election, the League of Women Voters would like to talk about resources available as part of MOVE 2016 (Massachusetts Voter Engagement 2016)

to encourage participation and help voters make informed choices in the 2016 election.

Vote411.org is a customizable digital online voters’ guide that allows Massachusetts voters to access personalized ballot information for statewide races, U.S. congressional races, state legislative races, and ballot questions simply by entering a street address.

Voters will also be able to access in-depth information about candidates and ballot measures, an online voter registration tool, local and state voting requirements and rules, and a polling place finder.

Thanks to an historic law passed by the state legislature in 2014, early voting will be available in Massachusetts for November elections in presidential election years, beginning with the Nov. 8, 2016, election. In these elections, early voting will begin 11 days before the election, starting on the Monday two weeks before the election and ending on the Friday before the election.

Beginning Monday, Oct. 24, through Friday, Nov. 4, during the workweek from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, registered voters can cast an early ballot on the Vineyard. Check with your town clerk for the exact early-voting location.

The last day to register to vote in the Nov. 8 election is Wednesday, Oct. 19.
